Solved the problem, it wasn't lifters after all, the coil pack connector for my passenger bank spark plugs was bad, and it was shorting out and arcing. I replaced it with a new one, and no more...

I tried what you said and well I did see some sparks, even electrical current. The weird thing is its not at the boots to the coil pack or at the spark plug boots but the spark plug wires itself is...

I am not sure but there are a few guys on the turborangerforums.com that seem to know quite a bit, one of the members has a turbo 2.3 duratec that runs in the 10's.

Sounds like a vacuum leak, you need to check the vacuum lines from the vacuum canister to the firewall, they can become brittle and crack over time, I had to replace 1 of mine on my ranger.

That square looking thing is the radio noise capacitor and it's just mounted and grounded to the coil the other connector looks to be for your ac line. This is a picture of mine on my 98 Ranger 2.5L....

On the 2.5 that vent hose from the valve cover goes to the side of the throttle body, and the pcv hose goes to a vacuum under the upper intake. The 2.5 throttle body has two vacuums one on the side...

The top ones that are black. This truck is bone stock, no lift or drop, or larger tires, I just wanted to fix the stock camber bolts correctly before taking it to the shop.

My 98 Ranger does the same thing as yours, blows heat on every setting except max ac that's the only one it doesn't. I read somewhere that on the max ac setting it applies vacuum to the heater...

Well I got the new Motorcraft tps sensor I ordered, it came in today so I went ahead and put it on and truck is running better, no more stalling, dying, or tps codes, so I guess the standard t157...

yeah it's acting up, it threw the same code again P0122 tps circuit low, and I know the tps connector is good cause I tested each wire with my multimeter, so I guess I'm just gonna have to buy...

I removed the iac and cleaned it out really well,then put it back on with a new felpro gasket, started the truck, still idles high. It's idling like 2000-3000rpm, unplug the iac instantly it drops...
