Default Changing Automatic to Manual

Anyone ever attempted to change from Automatic transmission to manual? The auto in my 2004 2.3L is showing signs of wearing out. I'm at 236k so far on the odometer. Thankfully the engine doesn't have any issues so far beyond sounding crappy when I start in the mornings thanks to very cold temps.

What's the most mileage you ever put on your Ranger before you junked it?

I never junked one, I just sell it. At 236,000 miles the transmission has lived quite a bit longer than the majority. The 2.3L Duratec has been known to reach 300,000.
Frame rot, then you junk it because that is a safety issue.
You must maintain your truck nicely to get that kind of reliability, Kudos.
