Anyone know what this tube is? It's just sitting there and not sure if this is important or not. Thanks.

Looks like a vacuum line, it could cause bad idle, or something in the heating, cooling not to work right.

With the engine running put your finger over the opening & if you feel a vacuum then it could cause idle problems & heating/cooling as in A/C not to work right. Look in your heater hoses back near the firewall see if your truck has a heater valve, it looks like the one that hooks to that valve on my 2000 Ranger. It could look like this,
