"That ain't right" Tire/Wheel issue.

I just noticed this yesterday when I was getting ready to go OCD mode and polish up my wheels since they had break dust everywhere. This is happening to two tires and it just looks odd to me, they must have done this within the last few days. I haven't hit, run over or done anything.

Is this anything to be concerned with, there is a 5-8mm gap from the wheel to the tire. All of them are properly inflated, OE wheels and tires. Also lately I noticed some "WAWAWAWA" noise & vibrations, so much so it makes my keys vibrate and clack together in the center console when steadily cruising or coasting on a non bumpy road. All of this is coming from the front right and is most noticeable at 10-40mph. I'm going to rotate them today and see if the noise follows or remains. Now might be a good time to look into getting the new wheels and tires I've been putting off...

Any ideas?

Just a little update. I rotated and the noise followed. Something is messed up with the mounting I think. The tire still makes a weird noise at low speeds and vibrates the cabin.

I might take it to a shop and see if they can quote something decent since the tires are pretty new and have a lot of tread left. It just concerns me that they're only a few months old and acting up, I dont want a highway blow out or something .. damn goodyears! I should have spent the $30 more per tire and got duelers or something.

could it be you have a tire feathering issue?(alignment)

Dude, the chrome is just a "hub cap" type cover over a normal steel wheel, and the have been known to come loose and make noise and vibrate etc. See if you can wiggle the part of the "wheel" thats away from the tire, this may be what you are experiencing. Good luck!

Yeah, thats definitely the problem. I can knock it back into place but it starts vibrating again after awhile. I'll probably go shopping for one piece construction wheels and replace them. I have been putting it off for so long because I just don't know what to get .. there are too many damn choices! lol
I saw a set of Dick Cepek DC-2s and they looked pretty awesome. They would really be set off when I tint the back and side windows.

Just a thought- if the noise and vibration followed the rotation of the tires to the rear it's possible you "slipped" the belts in the tire. I've had Wranglers do that in the past on heavier trucks without hitting something. Each time I have found a lump in the sidewall or face of the tire and when it is spun it really has a wobble to it. They especially seem prone to this if it is a P series and not LT.

I can't pick wheels!

Kind of got it narrowed down to these two.

I haven't seen either one on a truck like mine before, but I think both would look pretty good. Kind of leaning towards the dick crepek wheel. I don't know though! They both look pretty bad ass. lol

That's a possibility. I have noticed one of the tires bulges a bit. This isn't a great photo but it kind of gives you the idea of what I mean. It kind of looks like a indent with a bump beside it.
