| | Spacers Dilemma
Hey guys, this is my first post here!
I have a '05 Ranger edge 4.0 2wd. I am planning to put a 3" BL on it and some 33's. I have the fx4 wheels on the truck now and I really like the way they look, except for the offset. I have looked at spacers and I know they are taboo. I really haven't found ANY wheels that really do it for me, short a few procomp wheels that only come in black, the same color of my truck which i dont really like, and that they seem to have shallow backspacing as well. For a reference point, fx4wannabe has the type of offset I think looks the best.
I have a few questions:
If I do get a spacer, is 1" appropriate to get the fx4 wheels where they should be?
What brands make quality spacers?
At 1", there will be new wheel studs on the spacer, how do I install the spacer to the wheel? Are they bolted onto the old studs?
What is the center bore? Does this refer to the wheel itself or to the spindle?
Short of simply installing these, is there anything I have overlooked?
Thanks for looking!

Don't hold me to this but I think fx4 runs a 15x10 rim on his truck. As you already know the spacers are not really the way to go. I'd suggest doing some more shopping for rims in that 15/16x10 range before putting spacers on.

even 15x8 range is a big difference too and you get a nice stance... I have them on mine, 3in BL and 33x12.5...
This pic is b4 it was BL. But same tires/rims combo.

Just as a side note. Take a look at my pic albums. I started out running a 245/75 on my FX4 rims, then jumped to a 265/75 (32-10.50). Not really a wide off set, but enough to dramatically change the appearence of the stance.

Thanks guys, very nice trucks!!! Ha, I do have some wheels I would use if my truck was any other color, but black on black on black is a bit much for me.
Check out this attached photo, I like the way this truck sits. I know he has a 3" SL but otherwise we have the same truck, or at least we will after my BL. What size tires do you think these are, and do you think he has any spacers on?

Looking at the flares and the width of the tires in relation, to me it looks like possibly like a 12-50. Might ask for another opinion. Kinda hard to tell from that angle.
