Default Largest tires a 2.3l 2wd Auto can run?

Hey all,
Im planning on putting some 15x10 rims on my ranger but from what I understand, a 2.3l automatic ranger cant run large tires unless it would be sucking gas like no tomorrow.
So what Im asking is what are the largest tires I can put on my ranger without sacrificing mileage, but giving it a aggressive stance. (No body lift)

Thanks

re-gear the rear axle and you'll be able to run what you want.

True, But I cant see myself investing that much money on a 2wd. Would 30" be ideal?

I have 31s. I run them no issues barely any difference in power but I have a manual. 32s would be the biggest I'd could go.

depends on gears. My dad ran a 235 and could not run 5th gear. He had 3.73. We re-geard to 4.10 then later found a 4.10 expo and stuck in it. So with that, We need to know your gear size

what's everyone's fear of 2wd? it's not like they blow up if you re-gear it. if you don't want to spend that money on a 2wd then sell it and buy a "real" truck that also has a bigger motor. please tell me this is the look you're going for.

find out what your gears are now. if your not willing spend the money to regear if you need with the bigger tires, dont bother getting the tires. id get 15x8s, look better with a big tire. plus youll need pretty wide tire to run on 15x10s if im not mistaken

i run about a 29" tire with 3.73s with no problems, but thats with a stick

i ran 245-75-R16's for over 2 years (29.5")

lost some low end grunt and city mileage dropped a bit but highway mileage went up.

back down to 235-55-R16's (26") since i'm getting ready to lower it in the next month or so....

got my low end grunt and city mileage back but lost my highway hypermileage.....lol
