Does anyone know if the extra money for 10 ply tires is worth it mileage wise?

I don't have experience with 10 plys but also consider whether you think it's worth the money to buy 16 inch rims and r16 tires when you can get 15s cheaper, both tire and rim. Do you have a particular budget in mind? You could get something nicer in 15s and nicer tires for the same it would cost for cheaper rims and tires in 16s.

My advice would to be pick out some steelys you like in both 15s and 16s. And then do the same for alloys. And then decide on your tires for each. And price it out each way and whatever comes out closest to your budget go with that

Stay with the 15" or at least stay with a C-rated tire. E-rated tires ride like concrete and won't wear as well if kept underinflated to get a better ride from them. They cost a lot more too.

id go with the 285s. because they are a little smaller than 33x12.5. And imo, 33
s are to big for a ranger.

As for the steelies vs aluminum, people buy steelies for wheeling, so when they hit something hard enough, it bends the rim, their not out $100 or so for a wheel.

Steelies suck. they are twice has heavy as aluminum.

heavier wheel=more strain on the truck to turn them over = less power and mpg.
Ive had both and would never go back to them.
