Are Goodyear Wrangler Radials any good?
I'm looking for a cheaper set of new tires. I was wanting to know what you guys think of the tires. The are Goodyear Wrangler Radial 235/75/R15.
How do these tires perform? Anyone else here running these on their ranger?
-Thanks
KG

I have the exact ones on my truck!
Their "okay"...the traction on 'em sucks and they roar a little while driving but you get what you paid for even though that was the tires that was put on my truck when I bought it.

Junk, crap, garbage, trash, rubbish...I could go on and on. There are better cheap tires out there than those.

Re: Are Goodyear Wrangler Radials any good?
They are absolute junk. The old design was good, they had verticle grooves in the tire. Then, they changed the design and connected the treads, which make them unstable and will hydroplan very badly.
Old design.
New design

The coupon is share a link of the tires you are going to buy as your status and then write on there Fb page saying hey I posted the tires as my status, then they will pm you a code for $20 off 4 tire not much, but $20 is still $20..

Re: Are Goodyear Wrangler Radials any good?
Well, I like my junk, garbage,,,,,
I've got two sets, on two different wheel styles, one for winter, one for summer.
The best way to keep a tire quieter, is to rotate them every 5k miles or so. Mine make no more noise than a regular car tire. I have no problems with traction, but then again, I'm not mudding the truck. They work for me in the snow, haven't been stuck for a few years either. If your going to use them for street/pavement, and the occasional logging trail they'll work for you. If you want to go mudding, swamping, whatever, you'd be better off going with some of the tires these guys that do have.
My winter set has around 25k on them, and I'm not even thinking of replacing them.
Keep the air pressures where they should be, and rotate them, and they should last you awhile as well.

Re: Are Goodyear Wrangler Radials any good?
I had two different sets of these on my first Ranger, they are the ONLY tire Ive ever had that would hydroplane in light rain, in fact they are the only tire Ive ever had hydroplane on me ever. Snow traction was a joke even compared to the other crap Goodyear RTS and ATS I had on other trucks. After those 4 sets of Goodyear I swore off Goodyear forever. Trust me, there are WAY better cheap alternatives to these tires.

What would you recommend? I have about a $130 budget per tire not including mounting costs

This is all truth. OP, look at the pics I posted. This tire is absolute garbage.
Now, A good friend of mine has the GY AT/S. He uses that for a winter tire on his plow truck. Its a good tire.
But this wrangler radial is a complete waste of money.
Maybe the cooper weather master S/T CLICKY
