Default can i put 16" wheels and tires off an explorer on a 98 ranger

i have a 98 ford ranger with 14" wheels on it now and i put the 16" wheels and tires off of a 2005 ford explorer and the tire rubbed the control arm. they bolted up perfectly. i have read where other people have put this size on there ranger, how did they do it. is there an easy fix. thanks.

they only rub at full turn ? then you can grind the flat part on the control arm that will give you a 1/4" you can also run a small wheel spacer 1/4" again.
