Default Superlift tire size question.

Would 315/75r16 mud grapplers and 16x9 Moto metal -12 offset with 4.5 backspaceing fit with just the superlift and tbar crank to level? Or would they rub? Finally saved up enough for the lift, wheels, and tires. Trying to do some research before I pull the trigger.

I would contact the vendor and ask for technical advice, They have on call Factory techs to help answer questions like this.

Write down the name of the tech whom spoke to you, this way if you have any fitment issues they may be more inclined to help you with a return or upgrade if you went through proper channels before ordering.

I would do more to try and help, yet you did not provide any information on your truck.

Posting the year 2 or 4 wheel drive, engine size and transmission etc in your signature will get you more helpful people when you ask a question.

It would be tight. If the truck is strictly street driven, you might be able to get away with minimal rubbing. But if you plan on wheeling the truck, you're gonna want some more room.

4.5" is also a lot of backspacing. With a 12.5" wide tire and that much backspacing, you'll probably be rubbing on the sway bar.

Another thing to consider is gearing. Being you have an fx4, you have 4.10 gears and the 4.0 motor. That's the best case scenario from the factory for turning larger tires, but it is still a little on the under geared side to be turning 35s. I run 33s on that combo and it's a gutless turd, so I can only imagine how it would be on larger tire. So, unless you plan on regearing, I would shy away from anything larger than a 33, just from the standpoint of being able to turn them.

Thanks for the reply, and its going to be a street princess. I don't plan on wheeling it at all it's the first truck I bought on my own. It's still kinda brand new mileage wise for a 2003 with only 30k on it. Would I only be rubbing on the sway bar at full lock? And would 4.56 be the best gears to go with?

Ah, I gotcha. You're still going to have to trim some plastic I'm afraid. My 33s rubbed my mud flaps when pulling into driveways and such.

As far as they sway bar rubbing, I honestly don't know. It depends on how much it rubs and how much you can live with. If it were me, I would just get a wheel with less back spacing.

Most people seem to recommend a 4.88 gear ratio for 35s to get back to the stock effective ratio.

Honestly, I would just go with a 33 inch tire. I debated on going with a 35 after I installed the superlift on my truck, and am now glad I didn't. 33s fill out the wheel wells nicely and you don't need to worry about rubbing under normal conditions. Plus you can get by on your stock gearing. Running 35s on a ranger tends to be a whole can of worms. Just my $.02.

Your right, I'm just going to play it safe and do 33s. Do you think I'll have any problems with 33x13.50's with 15x10 eagle alloy 185's?

Depends on the backspacing of the wheels. My bet is that you'll have to do a little trimming.

I wanna say that they have 3.6 or 3.7 backspacing

You shouldn't rub anything on the inside. I've never run that wheel/tire size combo, but I bet you'll have to trim the valance a little. Other than that, I imagine they'll fit alright. I definitely have more confidence in that setup than I would in 35s
