The first 4 years of ownership tes drove a lot. Now no more, just around town and work. No more long highways. Those days are over for me.

Default Re: 235/75/R15 vs stock 225/70/R15 effects

I really appreciate this thread. I have a 2009 Ford Ranger Sport 2WD Regular Cab. I've had it about 4 months now. It has the original stock tires on it, but they are dry rotten. The truck was owned by a lady who apparently didn't drive it much as it only had 39,000 miles on it when I got it. Now I have almost 43,000 on it. But YES, time for some new tires and after reading this thread. I am going with the 235/75R15's instead of the 225/70R15's. What is strange is on every single web site for tires I have gone to they have all told me my truck has the 235's, but the badge in the door and the tires on the vehicle don't match that as they are 225's.

I've been on another forum and just came across this one today when I was looking at comparing tire sizes.

Thanks again for the great thread,

OTACORB

2009 Ranger Sports were equipped from the factory with 235/75/15 or 16" if 4wd. If the door jamb sticker says 225/70/15 then it couldn't be a genuine sport. Someone who owned the truck probably just put a sport badge on the truck for whatever reason. If the flooring is vinyl then it is an XL with a fake badge.
