I want to get a 3"body lift for my 2000 4x4, i will probably keep factory rims on it but upgrade some tires, what size should i go with that would look good but not extreme.

33" is what most guys go to and i personally am going to go for 33"s when I get my BL

Im going to get 285/70 r17 tires for mine when I get mine. The only thing you need to watch out for when jumping to 33s with stock rims is the rim width. They probably will be too narrow and some dealers wont install even though the rims are only about .5" out of spec. Many guys run stock width rims with no problem, but it does impose a certain aspect of danger.

Body lift rub question


Personally...id go with 32s.
I wish i had went with 32s instead of 33s.
Going with a wider tire..u may need to invest in wider fender flares and remove stock mudflaps.

Are his stock rims 15x8 tho?? Mine were 15x7...my explorer rims put on that had 31x10.5 tires were 15x8..

Im pretty sure your 00 ranger has 15x7 rims.....unless its one of those special packages.

Either way you can get cheap steel rims some Black Soft 8 Cragar rims, 15x8 for like $59 each.
My cragar 15x10s were either $69 or $79 each...cant remember.

So body lift and 4 rims youre looking at $400 ish..and if u do what i did, buy 5 rims and 5 tires and do a 5 tire rotation to get more life out of the tires and have a matching spare.

Of course the tires are going to be the most expensive things.

I believe its 8" wide what i roughly measured, its sitting on 255/70R16 at the moment.

Id love to get different rims but i have a whole other project i stick my money into, the ball and chain only giving me a little bit of the mula to spend on the work truck.

If its 70r16...then u have 16in rims not 15s...
