Default Why Won't They Fit??

New to modding Rangers...bear with me.

I have 98 Ranger that came with the stock steel wheels and hubcap center cap.

I bought a set of "deer hoof" aluminum wheels...but can't get them to fit.

The rears seemed to go on ok...but the fronts won't fit the bearing hub in the middle.

What gives?

Ya think? lol...that's why I'm asking.

I never heard of one Ranger wheel not fitting another Ranger...I thought they were completely interchangeable.

Weird thing is...the fit on the wheel up on to the axle hub. Snug...but went on.

I have no idea...but they are 14x7's. I'm not sure if 4x4's came with that small of a rim.

nah, you need to get some 15"s, then no more problems. Why do you want 14"s if you don't mind me askin?

Yea those wheels came off a 2wd, no go on the 4wd. I would suggest 15s, they have much cheaper tires.

My truck is a 2wd.

The truck came with 14's on it and I bought these with parctically new tires for $200.

It's my beater/work truck. Didn't worry much about looks....just needed the new tires.

Hmm what year is your truck? Probably came off an older Ranger with the smaller hubs

That's kind of what I figured....still can't figure out how they fit on the rear and not the fronts.

I had to beat the rears off because the rim was "mated" to the axle...the center part that fits in the opening of the rim. The new rims fit fine...weird.

They were stuck from scale/rust/grime build up.

Both the old rims and the new rims fit the rear axle center hub....seems they would fit the front brake hub as well.

If you were closer I might take you up on it...but right now I need to find a way to make these work.

All else fails I'll break out the dye grinder and a bit.
