Default discount tire question

Will discount tire install 33x12.50x15 on my aftermarket 15x8 rims in a 2001 edge? With just torsion bar crank?

Call and ask them...? Every shop is different. Every employee is different.

I don't see why they wouldn't. It's your money, your truck.

I bought my tires from discount tire... I know when I got my tires they said that 32s wouldn't fit stock. Once I had my truck there and my new tires & wheels mounted and balanced, they still said it wouldn't fit. I told them to do it, and they did it.

The customer is always right.

With all that said... IMHO, 32x11.5 would be a much better setup with just a torsion bar crank.

This may not help as you are talking about wider wheels and tires but it should be close and it is a discount Tire story.

I went to the local Discount Tire here 3 weeks ago with nothing but a torsion crank. My aftermarket wheels were 15x7 (4" BS) and I wanted 33x10.5x15's installed. The salesman rolled one out to my truck and held it against my current tire (235/75/15) and seemed so certain they would not fit in the front. "They will rub to the point you wouldn't be able to turn," he said. I told him I know my Rangers and plus the wheel hub will sit higher with the new tire installed. So what they did was change one out on the front first and checked for any rub. The new 33x10.5 only touched the splash guard on the passenger side, that is it. The salesman and the guys in the shop were surprised they fit without any issues. They mounted the rest and I drove home happy. Ask them to test fit one on the front and go from there.

Discount Tire is the only place I will ever buy tires from. Their customer service is fantastic, atleast the one in Knightdale NC is.

EDIT: I was exactly 21" from the center of my wheel hub to the top of my wheel well at the time.

I feel pretty confident you will be ok even though mine are 2" narrower. If you cranked the bars enough to level the front with the back you SHOULD be ok. Here is what mine looked like....

They are fantastic. I was there on the last day of the promo ($100 prepaid visa card on a "best" set of tires) and they were slammed! Even being crazy busy they were polite, courteous, and did everything imaginable to satisfy their customers.
