Default Brakes

I am still battling this whole brake issue. At first these relatively new rotors had been the cause of my trucks front end shake each time I pressed the petal slowing down between 60 to 30 mph. So I took the liberty of taking them off and getting them turned. 40 bucks was fair. Mechanic said there was some high spots. I then reinstalled and come to find out they now don't shake they now like wobble instead both in petal and steering wheel. Now what could it be?

Did you check the brake pads? I'd replace the pads as well. Also check your calipers to make sure you don't have a floating caliper(s) problem.

Default Re: Brakes

Floating calipers are a kind of brake caliper (fixed is the other one). With a floating caliper, the calipers move in and out relative to the rotor and have one or two pistons only on the inboard side of the rotor. This piston pushes the entire caliper when the brakes are applied, creating friction from the brake pads on both sides of the rotor.

If the caliper isn't being pushed in enough, the rotor can wobble and bounce around because there isn't constant complete contact with the rotors and pads. This is called a frozen caliper. Check your calipers and if they are floating, make sure the pads are coming in complete contact with the rotors. If not, that's most likely your problem and you either need new calipers or have them rebuilt.
