Since there has been a few threads on here with people asking about which wheels would fit,I think this chart will be helpful to look at before asking the questions:
some more info:
Zero offset - the hub mounting surface is even with the centerline of the wheel.
Positive offset - the hub mounting surface is toward the front or wheel side of the wheel.
Negative offset - the hub mounting surface is toward the back or brake side of the wheels centerline.
Backspacing of a wheel is the distance from the hub mounting surface to the rear outer most edge of the wheel.
In more common terms:
Positive offset: moves your wheel closer to the brake side (tucks it into the fender)
Negative offset: moves your wheel away from the brake side (makes it stick out past your fender)
*of course the amount of offset will determine how much you stick out/tuck
how to measure your backspacing:
I'm hoping this info will help eliminate some of those "will a xx wheel fit on my xx yeah ranger". Also, The diameter of the wheel does not matter for any of the above info so if you have a 15" wheel or a 39" wheel, those number will stay true...
