I was contemplating spacers but does that effect the ball joints or anything?

That stripe you got on the bottom, is that Line-X or powder coated or something? Or did you have it painted?

It's factory paint on FX4's and FX4 level II's.
Spacers, I don't like them. Bad idea IMO.
Just get 15x8's with 3.75" back spacing.
Or 16's 17's whatever. Just get the right backpacking and it will be perfect.

Spacers aren't bad... I wouldn't get them if you offroad or anything though... Good wheel spacers wouldn't cause more stress than an equivalently backspaced rim. That's what I've seen. I'd rather have a wheel with back spacing then have wheel spacers, though. And if you're getting new rims, just get ones that have a larger backspacing

Well, back spacing is a generic term and applies to all wheels. Post a link to the ones you're interested in and I'll take a look at their specs when I get to work.

If you’re purchasing new wheels anyway - do what 'CitySlick' said - and get ones with correct backspacing and skip the spacer’s altogether.
Spacers just try to compensate for a poor wheel choice.

To take the place of a spacer - you would want wheels with less backspacing - not more.
When talking backspacing - the larger that number is, the more 'tucked' the wheel will be (aka - distance from the back of the rim to the hub mounting surface becomes more).

Hey guys i got a question i have after market off road lockers on my 2000 ford ranger 4x4 and i turned a corner and the locker on the driver side slid right out of the hub and down the road nothing happend to it is still all together but i wanna know if u guys know why it did that i put it back on and hasnt fallen off yet

I really like these, but how wide would I go on the tires since they are 8in wide? Or should I go with a 10in wide rim?

& I think these have "more" back spacing since the number is smaller, correct?

& Slick I noticed you have the Superchip. I was looking into them but what is the Flashpaq setting? & how mush does the fuel economy setting change your gas mileage?

those mickey thompsons would probably work quite well.
i cant really say how much it imporved MPG, as i did all kinds of mods at once. larger tires, exhaust, and tuner. but overall i gained about 1-2 MPG on the highway. thats probably mostly due to the bigger tires. but the tuner is a must have imo to correct the speedometer and odometer.
