Default Tire Help

Just joined the forum & bought an 01 Ranger (manual) with 23.5'' tires and 15'' rims.

I'm looking to put my wrangler tires on it. 33'' AT tires with 15'' rims.

Does anyone know the potential of those fitting? Or how much of a lift would be needed? And what that lift would cost?

a 235-75 R15 is a 29 (28.9) inch tire, theres no way you have a 23" tire...

If it is an edge you might be able to fit them by cranking the torsion bars(I think this has been done before)

If its not an edge you'll need at least a 3" body lift(its been done, works well with a 33x10.5, not so much with a 12.5 wide tire), preferably that with a spindle lift or some other lift combo to get your at least 5" of lift to avoid rubbing.

Theres no way 33x12.5 are gonna go on that 2wd w/o lift kit and body lift. the 2wd are even lower than the 4x4's and mine barley fit and i have a 4x4. I had to max my t-bars and remove my valence to clear mine. and im still throwing on a BL soon. They say 33x10.5's are ok w/ jus a t-bar crank on a 4x4 but thats still not his 2wd issue

if he has a 2wd EDGE it would be the same height as you...

I've jus heard on here and other forums that when ur dealin w/ 2wd's and fitting tires you need to add 2" extra to the height to fit the same size tires as a 4wd.. thats jus wat i was gettin at. either way you need a bodylift to fit 33x12.5.... Im running it right now (33x12.5, t-bar max, no valence, w/o BL) and they are STUFFED. Not much room for flex. You need the at least the BL to run that wide a tire

And he's "assuming" its an edge... So saying that it's prolly gonna need more lift than what he's thinking, going by adding at least 2" to 2wd's cuz thier lower.....

this is why I included what he would need if it were an EDGE or if it were a plain 2wd.
