will these rims fit???
So im looking at getting these wheels off of a cobra. The add is the link below. The guy says they will fit my truck, and i know they have the right bolt pattern, but will they fit??? What does the offset due exactly, how will it look? My truck is a 2004 4x4 with a torsion key leveling kit. The tires i am going to use are 255/75r17

Re: will these rims fit???
They will fit but the back spacing is to deep , the truck needs backspacing of 4.5 inches , but the Mustang rims have a 6 inch back spacing , you are going to have to use 1.5 inch spacers to get them not to rub . This what I had to do with mine .
Now before people start bashing about spacers , I have had mine on for a year now no problems , I installed them using red lock tight , torqued the nuts to 100 ft pounds and havent had a problem . I drive my truck hard .

Re: will these rims fit???
Not to mention, it's overall a very bad offset in terms of offroad-sized tires.

did you mean WIDTH? why would offset matter in terms of tires fitting or not? less you are talking about tire clearance and the suspension....
Anywho, the eyeballing of those rims, You are definitely going to want to ask what the width and offset is, Those look like they are more designed for a FWD car with a high positive offset, not a truck.
For what it is going to cost to make them fit, I would invest the extra 200 or so bucks in wheels that fit right the first time. It isn't like those wheels new are that expensive to begin with.

Re: will these rims fit???
The width of those wheels looks to be 9". Most aftermarket mustang wheels are 17X9, 17X10, 18X9 and 18X10.

I have 17x8 rims with +40mm offset. I also have 1-1/4" spacers on the front and my rims are still tucked in the wheel wells. With an extra 1/2" on the inside lip and without spacers and offroad tires, the clearance available will be abysmal.

That is what big boy spacers are for. you are still north of 0 on the offset even with spacers. Or as I said in my first post, buy wheels that fit correctly the first time.
btw you are only running spacers in the front and not the rear? My FWD mazda car would be sunkin city with wheels in that kind of spec w/o spacers, I couldn't even imagine running them on a truck.

Yes, I know I am not at the factory offset. That doesn't matter. What matters is whether or not the rims fit correctly. Which is why I need to run spacers on the front and not the rear.
But this isn't news. Many people have run Mustang wheels on a Ranger before me, including me. And taking a look at the picture below will illustrate why I don't need spacers for the rear.
They don't sit in far at all. They are actually a pretty good fit, but unfortunately my steering geometry in the front won't allow me to NOT run spacers of at least an inch in width.
So far, no one has told me of any noticeable difference in looks between front wheel fitment and rear wheel fitment.
