Stock GoodYear or Firestone Tires?
My Truck came with Goodyear Wrangles. I have about 140 miles on them. I can't say one way or another if they're worthy of the New England weather on the Ranger.
I had these same tires on my Dakota and they bounced around the highway, spun at take off, and skidded braking and cornering. It rained today on my way back from Radio Shack and I didn’t have any issues although I wasn’t driving aggressively at all. It was a downpour.
About 3 years ago I installed a set of Firestone Destination A/T tires on that Dakota and it was like a different truck. They gripped so well, I felt like I could climb a tree with it. I could work that clutch and that truck would respond and go! I never got stuck anywhere.
Now back to the Ranger, should I keep the Wrangles or install a set to Destination A/T’s? I know the Goodyear tires will give me longevity but, I don’t want that if I can’t blaze a trail down 91 in the Ranger when it snows.
What’s your opinion?

Trash the crapyears, they are the worst tires Ive ever had. I have a set of the destination AT's on my F-150 and they are awesome, very happy with them.

Re: Stock GoodYear or Firestone Tires?
Destination AT's on mine and I think they are awsome!
Just last Saturday I was on the interstate in heavy rain, and didn't sense any hydroplaning at all, even when I would hit a heavy patch of water in the road.
And though we didn't have much for snow this past winter, when it did snow I was very happy with the traction.

Re: Stock GoodYear or Firestone Tires?
I have the Firestones on my '98 and they are great. I plan on getting them for '11 when the Goodyears wear out. I need to get a set of junk yard rims and some winter tires first.
