16" Honda wheels for 15" Ranger 1998
Does anyone know if the 16" wheels from an Odyssey, Pilot or Element will fit the 98 Ranger.
I know the diameter is the same (114.3mm) but is there sufficient clearance for the calipers?
Thanks

Re: 16" Honda wheels for 15" Ranger 1998
I don't think the argument over the bolt pattern is even the deciding issue. I do believe it is possible those hondas share the 114.3mm bolt pattern that we have.
I have other concerns:
1. I dont think the center bore will be big enough for the ranger hub.
2. If you have a 4x4, there has to be a big enough recess in the back of the wheel for your front hubs behind the centercap. (Not just a cosmetic issue.)
3. Offset and backspacing. Negative offset looks great on our rangers and I would guess that Hondas use alot of positive offset fitments.
4. Lug nuts. Factory honda use a ball seat style lug. This lug MUST be used on factory honda wheels. Lugs from a honda are 12X1.5mm where our rangers use 1/2in so you cannot use Honda lugs on your truck. You would be forced to purchase some ball seat lugs that are 1/2in. I do not know if those even exist.
I would say keep looking. There are plenty of wheels out there that will fit Rangers with alot fewer problems. Find some Mustang wheels.

I have been told that mustang rims will not fit a ranger 4x4. Bolt pattern is the same but offset will not work

Offset on the honda's is pretty shitty similar issue to the mustang rims on top of them likely being only 6-6.5" wide.

Retroboy1989 pretty much hit the nail on the head on all counts. There are too many things working against using Honda rims to bother trying. Even if one were to work out all the other issues, the +55 offset probably won't clear the suspension. Those rims are designed to work on a FWD vehicle, which has a very different setup compared to a RWD one.

I wasn't sure if he had a 4wd or 2wd. I guessed 2wd because of the question about Honda wheels and his avatar kinda looks like a 2wd.
Does anyone know what the offset on a mustang wheels is?

Re: 16" Honda wheels for 15" Ranger 1998
Thanks to all for your help. It is a 2WD model. I had a chance to pick buy a set of 4 wheel/tire from an Element but the seller made another deal.
I can get a set of 16" Explorer aluminum wheels with a set new BFGs.
Thanks again to all who replied.

Hubs on my 1998 4.0 2WD is too big for Mustang rims
I tried some Mustang Bullet style wheels on my 1998 4.0 2WD.
They would not fit over the front Hubs. :-(

I have a set of 89 Jeep steelies that work fine, granted you got about 1/4" of clearance between the caliper and rim, but they do fit. So check out Jeep rims.
