Did you have to get them powder coated after you bought them? Or did it come with it already done? And if you had to get it done, how much was it?

Re: rim options for wrangler duratrac tires
This is what a guy told me out the gitout forum.
the smaller the rim, the better. I say this because it means that for an equal size tire, your sidewall rubber surface area goes up. Also smaller rim, more rubber equals less money.
Steel rims will be less expensive, but cost more in MPG due to weight. I haven't spec'd out the cost difference.
when you are doing hard offroading, steel is stronger, but when it gets hurt, it bends. Alloy is weaker, but it chips instead, so you can take some hits and not totally destroy things - unless they crack. I wouldn't be afraid of either type.

Re: rim options for wrangler duratrac tires
I've got 15x10 cragar soft 8s. Nice affordable rims. Just wish I could get the bead lock things.
I also have the cragar center caps, opened end for the front manual hubs, and closed end with the cragar name on it for the rears. Keep them washed and waxed and they won't rust, rims and caps.
And steel will rust, aluminum will corrode and crack, while steel will bend, as stated above.
But the advantage of the steel, other than being cheaper, is that when it rusts, u can sandblast it and repaint it cheaper than having aluminum re-oxidized.
But I believe the thread starter said he wasn't going to go with steel rims.
And as for the weight and gas mileage issue, why bother with that? If u worried about fuel mileage, then u shouldn't be putting on 33 inch large tires in the first place.

Yea I'm thinking maybe the bead lock cragar soft 8s......I'm not sure, it's just such a large investment for me to make and I want it to last a long time. What do you use to wax them rims?
