Default low rider needing help

ok soo my friend got a great deal on some original kmc 17" stealth rims that are no longer made, soo he needs tires for them and doesnt know what size to get he knows he wants a 30 or smaller side wall, and he wants to stretch the tire a lil just soo that the tire doesnt hit the fenders what is the with of the tire that he has to get to have a small stretch on his tire we are trying to fill in the blank lol ____/30(or less)/17R i dont know how to tell how wide the rim is soo i measured the inside of the lip and the outside the lip

and the truck there going on the rims tuck but he wants stretched

and for those who dont know what stretched tires look like this is a extreme stretched tire, he doesnt wanna go that far with it just a lil soo it doesnt look goofy

that would be a 8 inch rim from you measurement.... 8 inches is 203mm so a 225 would be a little small due to the rim being 9 inchs in over all width(226mm)

if you stretch a tire the wear really bad and that also hurts your stopping. I understand what you are trying to do but you really should not stretch any tire much less a 30 or 25 series tire they are hard to mount with them being the correct size. move the inner fenders to make room.. also a 17 inch rim/tire with a 205?/30 is a very short tire much shorter than factory that would be a 21.85" OAH 5 inches shorter that factory!!

yea i under stand what your sayin about it not being too smart to strech the tire but he just doesnt want a flat side wall like most rimes have he wants it to b a lil different, just enough to tell not enough to damage the tire. and as for as the fenders go. the truck is about to be bagged soo we are gonna flair them just enough to lay frame and tuck. soo is that how the width of the rim works by metric? well i realy mean the tires ID i guess u would call it width in mm/side wall in mm/rim in inches lol

thanks for the info blownranger

inchesX25.4= metric mm/25.4=inches

225(width of tire)/30(percent of width for side wall)-r17(rim diameter)
