Default (small center hole)? Rim fitment question

Question: In the list of what rims will fit, it says (small center hole)..?? what is that in reference too. Also, will newer (2000+) stock Jeep wrangler rims (15x8) work on my 03 ranger??? i heard you have to bore out the center hole.

Center hole is referring to the hub hole on the wheel....the hole that the hub sticks through in the center of the lug nuts.

On a Ranger, the hole needs to be pretty decently sized to clear the hub/bearing cap. Most factory Jeep wheels won't fit. If aftermarket non-reproduction of stock wheels, they'll surely fit a ranger.

Cool. Hey do you know anything about the Cragar Soft 8's?? i've been lookin at them, and someone told me to make sure its the right backspacing or it can hit the calipers if i go from my stock 16's down to those. they have 4in of backspacing.. is that about right?? its the least ammount i can find.

Most if not all aftermarket RHD 15" steel wheels WILL fit the bigger 03+ brakes. Several folks with 03+ run steel 15x8 with 3.25-4" backspace and have no hitting. Those are about the standard/most common backspaces on 15x8 wheels. It's alum wheels you've gotta watch out for with caliper clearence.

whoops....RWD...rear wheel drive. Negative offset wheels....aka anything for a truck/ranger. lol.

4" is perfect....Marie's 08 has 15x8 w/ 4" bs and cleared the calipers very nicely. She's posted pics before...DisturbedESV is her screenname. 3.75 bs on a 15x8 will stick out the fender a 1/4" more. Smaller the number, the more it'll stick out. It's not the 15x8's you've gotta worry about, it's the 15x10's backspace and rubbing.
