negative offset and custom wheel questions
I have 14" wheels now and tire options are few, so I am moving to a 15" wheel. Tires are 225/70 now, plan to keep the 225/70 size in General Grabber HTS. My question is about wheels, measuring offset, etc. Is the offset measured from the back (brake side) of the wheel? Once I have the offset, how do I use the chart posted on this site?
I found a set of Dayton Wire Wheels; 15 x 7 reverse (deep) dish. These are "knockoffs" with the adapter that mounts to the hub and then the wheel is attached to the adapter with knock-off caps.
I figure the height clearance is no problem. Also that the offset will extend the tire past the fender a little.
My tire guy recommended I measure the offset and ask if anyone has experience with negative offset on Rangers, especially on the front.
Thanks in advance for thoughts, comments, warnings, etc.
