Default 1993 Ranger Off Roading

So, I've reading through a bunch of the threads out there already, but I want to double check, especially since my year lists as a tricky one and one I should consult about. I have a 1993 Ranger XLT, 4.0 V6 Extended cab 4x4. Right now are basically stock tires, but I'm looking to add something that will give me some light to moderate off roading ablity. They are going to be tires I put on only for off roading, so they can be anything, and only temporary. I don't plan on lifting it any time soon, so basically I'm just looking for advice on what to throw on there now. Anything would be helpful.

Thanks
Rich

I'll chime in.
235/75r15 is what I got on mine except I have aftermarket wheels.I'm not sure what size wheel came on a 4x4 in the 93-97 years but I wanna say it was a 15" wheel.I got goodyear duratracs and I love them.Theres pics of them on my ranger in my album.Take into consideration that mine is a 2wd with a 2.5" leveling kit and extended shocks to go with it so its gonna sit like a 4wd.

Thanks for getting back. The tires you mentioned looked like a good option? Have you taken them off road often? My truck has r15's now. Also, I've read a few articles mentioning adjusting the t- bar. I'm assuming that is the track bar. Is it necessary and how would one do it?

Your truck doesnt have t-bars. You have TTB. Also your truck doesnt have a track bar, which is on straight axles. T-bars are Torsion bars on 98+ trucks.

FWIW, 3rd gen 4x4s came with 15x7 wheels.

You will either need coil spacers or leveling coils to level the front of your truck out. I would suggest going w/ rough country leveling coils if your gonna wheel with it. I wold personally stick a set of 31s on it. I had them on my truck with 15x8 wheels with 3.5" backspacing and they only rubbed when you flexed it. You will also need longer shocks in the front if you ever level it.

If you ever need help working on your truck, I'll be more than happy to help you if you feel like a drive. Im in Williamsport, Pa.

Can a set of 31x10.5x15s fit on the truck if there is no lift kit or leveling kit, or would I still need to do something to allow them to fit?

Thanks
