You could, but it is going to look stupid IMO. The 14 and 15 inch tires are a different overall diameter, so you are going to have a larger tire in the rear. Do you have 15 inch rims already? If you do why not do front and rear, then sell the newer 14;s?

NO it will not be fine. You CANNOT put a 15" tire on a 14" rim.

The difference in overall tire hight won't hurt anything, but THE TIRE WILL NOT FIT THE RIM.

Remember, the last numbers in the tire size must match the rim size. ***/**r15 won't fit a 14" rim.

Thanks for the responses. I prob should have been a little clearer. I do understand that a 15" will not fit on a 14". There are a lot of P235x75r15 that are on 15" explorer rims. They are being sold on Craigslist I would buy the tire and rim from the explorer and put it on the back of my ranger. Thanks again for all the input

Suppose he gets a flat in the rear and his spare is the smaller size? Wouldn't that jack up his differential?

^^I just always carried the larger size for a spare when I was running larger tires on the back of previous vehicles.

it will be ok to run two differnet size tires on the back but i would not do it for a long time cause it can still do damage. but to get it off the road yea do it

i'm guessing your front tires measure about 24 or 25 inches?

the 235/75R15 will measure closer to 28 or 29 inches, so bear in mind its gonna throw off your speedo, odometer, gas mileage, and they are gonna kinda be stuffed on a 2wd

different size tires will work to get a limited slip rear off the road, but run it that way too long and it will smoke the clutches in the LS
