Default Installing Tire Pressure Monitoring System

Does anyone have experience installing the Orange Electronics P409S Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) on Ranger alloy wheels (2009)?

Is your truck a '09? If so you should already have a TPMS system stock... if not then DON'T DO IT!!!!!!!!!!!

My truck came stock w/ TPMS and it was nothing but headaches. I know nothing about the system your talking about and how it compares to Ford's but I vote no on all TPMS...

If your truck is 07 and newer, you already have TPMS standard...

If you install it and never mod your truck and never look at your tires then it's great... but for someone like me who is totally in tune with how the truck feels (noticing any difference in ride) and who plans on putting other wheels on... it's just a waste of money to have to keep transferring parts over... I was looking at like $300 just to uninstall my TPMS and move it to the wheels I have now... and the best part is when it does kick on, it takes like 30 min. When I uninstalled it I was in WA from Boring, OR before TPMS light finally came on... BS

It is but you have to buy 4 new bands ($60 ea. I think) and pay for dismount/mount of old tires to get the sensors out and mount of new tires... assuming they don't charge a $0.01 for labor.

Default Thanks

Thanks, gents. This was my first post on this site/forum and I screwed it up. My Ranger is a '99, not a '09. It did not come with TPMS. I am simply installing the $130 (total) aftermarket device on a stock truck. The readout/receiver is a 1"x2"x3" readout that plugs into the cigarette lighter. It shows pressure and temp of each tire. The wheel transmitters are a .5"x1"x3" devices with a valve stem sticking out. They are mounted inside the wheel at the valve.

Next I'll learn about photos........Sorry about the confusion. Tom
