If i keep my stock 16x7 wheels and get a 3" suspension lift, what is the max size tire i can get.

I would go with 285/75/16 or somewhere around there.

A suspension lift for your truck is going to be at least 4". The only 3" lift is a body lift.

http://www.fordrangerforum.com/wheel...tire-size.html

Yes you can run the stock wheels with a lift...many have. You can run up to a 295/75r16....305/70R16 is pushing it for a 7" wheel, though many run 12.5 tires on a 7" wheel.

Superlift is advertised as a 4/3 kit. There are no suspension lifts that are 3" for these trucks...though a superlift with decranked bars can get you 3" overall lift if you wanted. Dont do torsion keys as said many times before.

for that size you need a minimum 8 inch wide rim, i belive the widest tire for that rim is 10.50

Not true. Many have ran tires wider than 10.50 on a 7" wheel before.

+1

285/75 is about 33x11.5 Not a problem for a 7" wheel.

8" would be better from a tread wear standpoint, but plenty have run the 7" without issues.

Is the superlift 4/3 inch lift a good brand to get? By the way thanks for all the info.

cause i was told by the shop that did mine a rim that is 7 inches wide would only wear that tire down quicker.
also the bfgoodrich website say the rim range for that size is a 7.5 - 9 inch rim
(just going by what i was told)

Like Jay FX4 said from a tread wearing stand point a 7" wheel isn't the best for a 11.50"+ tire. I was just saying that you didn't HAVE to have a wheel wider than 7" to run them. But like Marie said just because its been done doesn't mean its the best idea. And Marie to the Downey comment.
