2WD Rims vs. 4WD Rims?!
Went and asked a local shop near me(not specific to trucks..just has lots of nice things) and I asked him about the Dick Cepek DC-2 rims for my Ranger. He said they aren't available for 2WD..only for 4WD. Which I find odd, because it says on their website its fine for all trucks, suvs, and 4X4.
He said because the offset is different..is he on crack, or am I not understanding? :S

Re: 2WD Rims vs. 4WD Rims?!
to my knowledge the only difference between 4x4 and 2wd rims is that 4x4 on a 2wd will need spacers.

Re: 2WD Rims vs. 4WD Rims?!
The only difference is that the factory rims MAY have a smaller center bore than a 4x4 wheel. Pre 97 as they had lockouts. 01+ should not matter. Also, generally aftermarket wheels have larger center bore anyhow, to accomadate various vehicles. For instance, My ranger rims would not over the hub on our jeep cherokee. The cherokee wheels would fit on the ranger.

Re: 2WD Rims vs. 4WD Rims?!
2wd rims have a bigger center hole because they have the hubs built into the rotors...because 4wd rangers have "floating" rotors the center hole is smaller

Actually pre-98 4x4 hubs are LARGER than 4x2 hubs...due to the lockouts and such

In your case, yes, go get whatever wheel you desire

you have to bore out the center. its because the ranger rims are hubcentric.
expo 15's and ranger 16's bored the lip out of the rim with a die grinder.
