Default 35in or 33in

Im not sure about what size tire to but on my '86 ranger. Im pretty sure it has plenty of clearance for 35's but only has a stock 2.9 v-6. it has a 6 in suspension lift. but im worried about power.

you'd need to regear with either choice, id go 33. what do you use it for?

Most guys run a bodylift ontop of that suspension lift to actually clear the 35's. Go 33's. And by what I've seen of those older rigs, their gear ratios are really really crappy for larger tires. (like 3.07 or 3.28).

I don't think your square fenders can clear 35s unless you cut/lift more... My ex had 10" on his '91 and it couldn't clear 35s... besides... I wouldn't put 35s on that engine... you should probably regear either way...

I'd just go with the 33's. You won't have any potential clearance issues, and won't rob as much power because of your gearing.
