Default 1997 2WD Ranger Larger Tires

I am buying 4 15" rims, compared to the 14" currently on the truck. What is the largest tire size i could go without having to change the stock suspension? Thank, TJ

a lot of the 90s rangers had 14" wheels. my grandpa's has them and it is a 97 2wd and a friend of mine has 14s and his is a 94. mine is a 93 splash but i have 15s. so not only the 80s model had 14s. on my truck i've got Cooper Cobra GTs 235/70/15s and it gives it a good stance. i tried the chart above and it didn't work. i can easy go with 235/75/15s depending on the tire tred.

copied and pasted

93-97 (Consult before adding tires, this is the tricky year)(may also need lift in rear depending on spring sag)

4x4 & 2WD (The 2wd and 4x4 front springs are same length and the shocks also.)

* 15x7 stock suspension - 30x9.5x15, 31x10.5x15(may need to trim valance a little, if major spring sag wont fit)

* 16x7 stock suspension - 235x60x16, 235x75x16, 245x75x16(slight chance of trimming)

-----

* 15x7 & 15x8 Leveling block or leveling spring - 31x10.5x15, 32x11.5x15( may need major trimming)

* 15x7 & 15x8 Leveling block or leveling spring & BODY lift or suspension lift - 31x10.5x15, 32x11.5x15, 33x10.5x15, 33x12.5x15(may need minor trimming)

* 15x8 & 15x10 body lift AND 6" suspension lift - 33x12.5x15, 35x12.5x15, *Anything larger at your own risk*

* 16x7 & 16x8 Leveling block or leveling spring - 245x75x16, 255x70x16, 265x70x16, 265x75x16(will need trimming with 16x8)

* 16x7 & 16x8 Leveling block or leveling spring & BODY lift or suspension lift - 265x75x16, 285x75x16(may need trimming), 305x75x16(may need trimming)

30x9.5 will definitely fit. 31x10 might rub.

I have an 04 2WD and have 235x75x15. Have plenty of room but they still look good.

this list is wrong. 93-97 depending on the model came stock with 265/75R16's to start off. along with the fact that i know from experience 33x12.50R15's will fit on the stock rims on a truck with a bastard pack rear (~3" lift) and f150 coils (~4" lift) there was no trimming and the only rub was on the control arm at full lock. album with pics
