Default Rotational noise in rear wheel

For several weeks now I've noticed a noise in my rear wheel of my 1996 Ranger XLT, 4 cylinder, 5 speed truck. It has about 90,000 miles on it so it could be anything.

The noise is coming from the passenger side rear wheel it sounds like it too me. It seems to be a rotational other words, it clicks or ticks with each revolution of the tire. It doesn't sound like a tire noice....could it be something in the brakes????

I guess I'll have to pull that wheel to see if the brakes are causing it. I seem to be able to hear it when I'm in neutral......and can't hear it when the truck is in gear.????? Odd. Can someone help me identify this noise?

Could be a wheel bearing.

This is an obvious question but have you checked the tire for a nail or screw? If so than I would say it might be the bearing as well. Is it a slower repetative noise or fast?
