cooper discoverer st or the st/c or stt, all are very very nice tires....love how my dad works at cooper's and gets a discount on them.

i had bfg at's, they are very good too, but i feel like the cooper's track a bit better in snow (or just how i drive it sometimes)

my .02 cents.

Yes, I stopped by NTB this Am and they have the Cooper Discover. But man! $120 something for 1 each. That's steep for me.

$120 a tire really isn't that much if your looking for a decent mud tire... the good mud tires are 200-300 a tire.

the longtrails are not very great. If you want a good tire but cheap, go to your local tire dealer and tell them to order you these Delta Sierradials A/Ts

http://www.deltatire.com/catalog/tir...1&tsubcatid=11

As you can see, they are the same people who make Pro Comp tires! I had these tires and loved them!

here they are on my old truck in a 265

In one word "NO". Good on the highway, forget any kind of terrain that doesn't come out the back of an asphault truck. Been there, will never go back.

Can you be more specific? I.e. Highway, rough terrain?

Cooper S/T - New tires on my truck. I run mostly highway and they do great. Off road they proved themselves just a good this past weekend. Will buy again.
Cooper H/T - Good road tires. Run these on my Escape. Good treadwear and ride quality. Will buy these again.
Cooper ATR - Ran this tire on my 89 BII 4x4. Great tire for a DD, but with very little off road capabilities. "Looks" better on a truck that it performs.

for the two tires you shown...

AST - All Season Tire....its like a lower version of an a/t tire....they will be very well mannered on road, but off road it is a different story, like said above for another style tire, its more of a "looks" tire, i think we run this style tire on our trailer...

ATR - All Terrain Radial, like most A/T's wont do Amazing off road, but pretty good. I've pushed them hard and they really took the abuse, still really well mannered on road.

Well . . . unfortunately I have to go with what fits my price ranger. This auto place around the corner has some Goodyear Wranglers. A set four at a close out price $365 out the door. $425 with allignment.

That's life on a tight income.
