Default Removing TPMS without breaking the band

Is it possible to remove the TPMS on a late model Ranger without having to cut the band?

the sensor itself if just pinched in-place with the brownish clip

the cradle that it sits in, is held in with the band

the OEM factory bands are designed non-reusable

Thanks, my dad called and said he had the wheels on his Ranger powder coated but he just removed the sensor and had the band and everything else powder coated. After he re-installed the sensor, tires, and remounted the wheels he got the TPMS check light. Is there something he needs to do or do you think one of the sensors are damaged?

turn key to "on"(accessory) 3 times ending on "on"
press brake pedal once
turn key 3 more times

horn should honk-go drive it. should reset itself.

if that doesn't do the trick a sensor may have been damaged. also all band mounted sensors should be 180* from the stem

aftermarket bands ARE removable. they're basically like a massive hose clamp

Maybe the sensors or wheels ended up in different positions than originally, hence the retraining as noted above would work. I haven't done it myself yet, but I'd thought that the procedure also needs the reset tool during the retrain...

The ford tpms system won't freak out if they get put in different positions. that's more of a GM thing(and even then the dummy light won't turn on)
