Re: bigger tires with a 4banger
well, I can tell you from personal experience that a 4.10 is not going to turn anything OVER a 30". We regeard my dads 2.3 to 4.10 then changed that out for an exploder 8.8 with 4.10. He can turn the 235's about how it turned the 205's with 3.73. But anything over that will start making it lug out again. If you have the 7.5" I wouldnt go any bigger then 4.10 gear, the pinion will be getting pretty small with any thing over and with the torque from large tires may snap and have problems.

Re: bigger tires with a 4banger
there should be a tag on the rear end. should read something like this: 4 L 10 8.8- 4.10 Limited Slip 8.8. If now tag, check door tag. If no door/tag just turn the axle and count how many times the pinion spins

Re: bigger tires with a 4banger
Completely unrelated question, but i thought they stopped making 4x4 4 bangers in 91-92 model years...\
Anyways, I like the cooper ATR's, had them on my truck for a while and had them on my dads truck for about 40k miles, do great towing and in the snow, dirt

Re: bigger tires with a 4banger
it was my grandpas truck from 93 it started as a 3.0 hauler he put over 300k on the 3.0 and then put the 2.3 when he retired and made it his daily driver and fun truck it was the only vehicle he ever bought new in his life and he wanted it to be in our family so now its mine it was originally the 3.0 4x4 i wish they made the 93 as a 2.3 originally it'd be more compilable
----------
and yea i need dirt/rocks/road lol
----------
k ill probably ask one of the guys at the junk yard for help out on it or ill go to the transition shop in town for help thx
