Comparible to BFGs
I have skimmed througn some threads to try and find out some info, but cant really find what im looking for. What is a good tire that is comparible to the BFG A/T KOs---possible a little cheaper? Ive seen alot of good stuff about the Nitto Terra Grapplers, but they just dont look like they have an aggressive tread like the BGFs do. I guess what im looking for is an A/T (NO M/Ts) with an agressive tread that wears good and lasts a good while. if not i guess ill go with the BFGs, but i dont really want to fork that cap load of money! pics would be nice.
please no lift and 35s or m/t stuff, its not getting lifted or anything, and i dont oversized tires. its my dd and i dont have alot of money to be killing my gas mileage.i just want a good tire recommendation.

id suggest General Grabber AT2s. Same tread pattern, a lot cheaper than BFG ATs. They wear great and have like minimal road noise, they have great traction in sand and stuff. heres the tread pattern:

ur the second person to recommend these! in all seriosness, do they really compare in tread wear and stuff. i know BGFs are on another level because they have a thick sidwall (3-ply) and stuff. i just dont wat to fork out a crap load of $$$ on them!

I second General AT2s. I have them on my truck and have drove to Athens, TN (7hrs one way) and a lil north of Pittsburgh (6hrs one way). They ride great and are no louder than BFG ATs.

p metric is for a car or what thay call passenger tires and what you are looking for would be a LT (light truck) the side walls are allways thicker in ply and tread is i think 4 ply and up. but as for the tires try big o brand thay had some tires that are half of BFG's price and looked nice and aggressive sorry i only have had BFG's and mud kings so i dont know about the other. also try to find Dunlap canyon crawlers A/T very nice tire and quiet on the road. look at www.shoptrucktires.com thay have good deals every so often. good luck and we want pics of your choice. lol

ya they have 31x10.5x15. honestly, i can hardly tell the difference in tread between when i bought them and how they are now, ill take a pic later so you can compare. i have about 17,000 miles on them now. i bought my 30x9.5x15 for about $90 shipped per tire. I couldnt have asked for a better tire.
their an all around great tire. heres the website

$60 off seems pretty high, especially for a ford dealership. i bought mine through tire rack and they got shipped straight to my house.
btw.. 31x10.5x15 bfg AT is $142 on tire rack. and the General Grabber AT2 same size is $115. what you would pay for 4 bfgs is only 7 dollars cheaper than 5 AT2s

142 x 4 = 568
115 x 4 = 460
568 - 460 = 108
Thats a lil more than $7.

My next tire is most likely going to be the Goodyear Duratrac. Its an aggressive a/t that is supposed to be quiet and very good in snow if that matters for you. The thing is though that they have not been on the market very long so I don't know how long they are lasting. Its $131 a tire for 31x10.5/15, so they are not really that much cheaper than the BFG.
Here's a link for them on tirerack: http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....omCompare1=yes
