Default Upper ball joint stuck

All ball need changed. Remove shock no problem, sping compressed no problem. Now the problem. Im trying to remove the spindle from the pitman arm, removed bolt but can't get the spindle to release. It will spin. I have even supported the lower assembly and tried pressing it out with small hyd jack between lower arm and upper assembly. I would use C4, but fresh out.
What is the secret.

A little more info would help as well, like year and 2wd or 4x4,
But you basically need to take the pinch nut out of the spindle completely. Then carefully use a prybar to separate it, if you have a haynes manual it shows an example, (or if your replacing the spindle, beat the shit out of it with a hammer, like i did, not recommended tho)

But FYI!!
If your replacing the upper ball joint, you need to replace the whole upper control arm on 98-up 2wd and 4x4's, not sure on the I beams and TTB front suspension.
(You can do it with leaving the uppers stock but you need to take out the upper control arm and have access to a 20 ton press, replacing the uca is 10 times easier, and safer.)

Get moog upper control arms, they go right in and for my 01 they were only about 60-70 a piece, you WILL need an alignment after you change them tho.

I did put all that Info in but went back and edit it to put sport and only sport came up.

I have all the newparts I have new arms.

What the trouble is getting the spidle from separating from the knuckle.

i wish my service manual wasnt in my truck.... could take pics of it, and i think you mean Getting the spindle off of the control arms, because the spindle and knuckle are basically the same thing, just spindle is used in terms of 2wd and knuckle is used in terms of 4x4.

It may be easier if you take the rotor off the snout, less chance of damaging your brakes that was as well. Also before you do it, spray some PB Blaster or other penetrating lube in the area that the pinch nut goes and the ball joint resides, it may be stuck in.

Take a prybar, or a crowbar and place it on top of the spindle, close to the ball joint, then hit the crowbar with the hammer to prevent damaging the spindle.

I remember it took quite a tad bit of time getting the uppers to separate for me.

Tried to post pic but not sure how to do it. I know one would select the pic icon i dont store any pics online.

The stud of the ball joint. The reason one would remove the pinch bolt from pitman arm.

I have used prybar, tons of pb blaster, pressure upwards from a small hyd jack, smacked with a 5lb brass hammer, cussed at it. Tried to separate the pinch bolt area but just slips out. almost breaking my jaw.
Like typed earlier the of the ball joint spins inside pitman arm.

I got it. wow that jack that came with truck finally was good for something. continued jacking between lower and upper arms and it finally popped out.
