Default MPG question

So right now I have 31x10.5 on my '97 4.0L with a 3 inch body lift. Im getting around 16-17 mpg. But now that one of my coils broke im going to use my birthday money( birthday is tomorrow) and get the rough country leveling coils and new shocks. But now im looking at getting 33x12.5 and was wondering what kind of MPG people with 33x12.5 are getting with the 4.0L. My truck has the 8.8 rear axle with 3.73 gears.

I get about the same with my 2.5, so you aren't doing too bad. Word has it that the 3.0 is under powered like my 2.5, so that might explain the similarity in fuel mileage...

I also have a tonnue cover which I am told should help. I am looking forward to doing an all highway trip so I can see how it does for that. Considering what I use my truck for I can live with what I am getting now. The SUV I had before was only about 18, so I have upgraded in that area either way.

I'm still getting around 18 with 31s on mine...you don't have to drive like a grandma just don't floor it every time you leave the line.

With 33x12.5s I'd regear to at least a 4.10 or your highway mpg will probably suffer, mine did.

Well im trying to stay away from re gearing for now that why I was wondering. I only work 10 min from my house so its not really a problem if my.MPG drops. And when I put the 31's on I only lost about 1 mpg, but I never really put my foot in it unless I have to lol. I have other cars for that
