New around here and just reading old stuff of interest but I've got to agree with the naysayers on this. It's not worth the expense or effort to run beads in passenger size tires (235/70-15's on my truck with OEM 7-spoke rims).
I ran dynabeads for a while and experimented first with weights + beads, then with no weights and only beads. In terms of the ride weights + beads was okay, but beads with no weights ended up about the same as no beads and no weights -- it shook and shimmied at speeds above 45-50 mph.
So, I went back to conventional weights and it rides fine up to 80 mph, which is faster than I normally drive. (99% of the time I set the cruise on the posted speed and go the no stress approach to law enforcement...)
Then, there is the matter of flat repairs. My first flat repair was a major ordeal trying to get the tire off without spilling $7 worth of ceramic beads all over the shop floor. And then static electricity caused those that could not be scooped out to stick to various spots on the inner walls and made it a hassle to buff the inner surface to install a patch.
It's just a lot simpler and saves a few bucks to skip the beads in ordinary size tires that come OEM on the Ranger truck.
Regarding nitrogen, I think it's a kool-aid imbibers or group-think thing. If you have access to nitrogen and want to fill your tires with it, go for it -- no harm done.
But if you have to pay for it, I don't think the difference is worth the money unless you are like my 78 year old mother.
She imbibed the kool-aid and has nitrogen in her Goodyear self-sealing tires and faithfully goes by about once a month to have her tires checked at the independent distributor where she does business. The nitrogen costs her $10 a tire when she had them installed and the tires never need a shot of gas, but it's worth the initial outlay to get her out and about and to assure the tire check is done with some regularity.
Naturally, all this is just my humble opinion. And for the record, I prefer Merlot to kool-aid...
