Default 08 4x4 ranger wheels on a 98 2wd ranger

hello to all. i bought a set of wheels like the title says for my ranger. the problem is the hole inside of the wheel will not fit over the dust cap? what would be the easiest fix for this problem. i thought all ranger wheels would fit all rangers but i assume this is incorrect. thanks for everyones time.

you will have to take it to a machine shop to have the hole bored out or sell them and go aftermarket

I dont know, just enough to allow you clearance to fit. only problem is you wont be able to use little centercap

your gunna lose those center caps anyhow once and if the get bored out. I always had issues with my one rim...every 2k miles the right rear would be gone. So I gave up on the caps.

does using a dremel to bore it out some sound like a very bad idea? if so there is a machine shop pretty close to my house.

No, bring it to a machine shop, the time it would take to do it with a dremel would be killer.

ok just an update, but i gave the dremel a try and removed a tiny lip im assuming helped to hold the center cap on. took about 20 mins but now the wheel will go all the way on and stop just shigh about 1/8 from the hub. but it does sit perfectly on the hub. so this morning i bought (4) 5/16inch wheel spacers to make up for that 1/8inch it wont go back any further. Im thinking problem solved i hope. what do you guys think? thanks
