Re: thoughts on goodyear wrangler
While it is not my tire of choice, I have this same exact tire in a 265/75/16. These tires were already on the truck when I bought it, which was over two years ago, and they are still not even close to being worn out! So even though I'm not that crazy about them, they have served me very well, on and offroad. Hope that helps a bit!

Re: thoughts on goodyear wrangler
well i dont do any off roading except to get up my dad driveway.... i live in the city and they clear most of the roads during the winter but they always seem to hit my road last so i am needing a little bit more of an aggressive tire for the winter and hopefully within the next year i will be able to make this my winter set and get the tires that i actually want... i know they are a cheap tire.

Re: thoughts on goodyear wrangler
Those tires are terrible, I would buy almost any tire but those. They suck in the rain, snow and even dry pavement. I hated every mile I had to drive with those tires on my truck. If youre looking for a good tire look at the BFG Long trails, I put a set of those on my wifes Blazer a few years ago and they are awesome. I payed about $380 for the set mounted and balanced.

Re: thoughts on goodyear wrangler
X2 on theses tires not being so great. I drive in the same environment as you you do 99% city and I also saw a canadian winter with them and I wouldnt buy these tires again. They really suck in the rain. Its like driving a boat and even taking off lightly theres a high chance of wheel spin. In the winter, I had 200 pounds in the bed for traction and they were okay but I could see hard braking being an issue. If you are going to get tires, get something better. I understand you are in dire need of meat and your tight on money, but these tires arent worth it.

Re: thoughts on goodyear wrangler
Absolute JUNK! Take it from someone who has run those. The old design, like your pic are excellent tires. The problem is, they changed the design. There is no verticle grooves in the current tire. This makes those terrible. They will hydroplane in water and grip nothing in snow.
here is a pic of the current tire. Notice the lack of grooves and how the treads are connected.

Re: thoughts on goodyear wrangler
I sell these tires a lot because they are cheap, but in all honesty i hate them, they are soft, even with 35 psi they have a lot of sag in the sidewall, they rarely (from my 5+ years of dealing with them) make it to 50k miles, they wear horribly (and i doubt every ranger, astro, s10, dakota, etc i put them on has suspension issues). I hear they handle poorly as well. Honestly, I like the Uniroyal Liberator A/T (i get them at walmart) last a hell of a lot longer look better and don't suck in every weather condition.
If you want a cheaper tire, try the General Grabber AT2 I hear lots of good things about them, supposedly are better than the BFG all terrains that everyone loves for some reason, but they are cheaper also - usually not much more than the wrangler radials.
