My 2008 Ford Ranger 4x2 came with OEM spec Goodyear Wranger SR-A tires (235/75-15). But I really don't need AT tires as the only "terrain" I drive on is dry/wet good condition pavement. I don't tow, or go off road, and I drive way more highway miles than I do city miles.

If I just got highway/touring all-season tires when my OEM tires wear out, I was wondering if I could get:

a) Better wet/dry traction on pavement compared to ATs
b) Better wet/dry handling on pavement compared to ATs
c) Slightly better fuel economy compared to ATs
b) Slightly less road noise compared to ATs

The above list are my priorities, in that order.

What do you guys think? Just regular, non-AT street tires...or should I just stick with ATs?

depends...i have all season tires ( i consider roadish tires but they do well offroading) and my wet traction is horrible


if u must....id get michelin ltx ms u cant go wrong w them and the milage should be good

def dont get a/ts IMO id get all seasons before i went with strictly road tires

Michelin LTX MS is probably one of the best tires you could get for strictly on road, all season performance in a truck.

Actually, I was thinking of those particular Michelins.

I looked them up on Tire Rack and they have a very high customer review rating. WAY better than my OEM tires (according to Tire Rack).

I don't need snow/ice performance in non-winter months as I'll be getting a separate set of dedicated tires for winter.

oem tires tend to be shit.

X2 especially the goodyears. the Michelins are good though. another tire to look at would be the BFG long trails, i put a set of those on my wifes blazer over 50,000 miles ago and they still have alot of tread left. they are quiet, smooth and with those tires on it we can squeeze 22 MPG out of that turd. they are great street tires IMO.
