Changing tire size
I want to change the stock tires on my 2007 STX to some thing bigger while keeping the stock 15 inch rims. I basically want a wider footprint and a larger diameter tire without going to large, any suggestions?

Re: Changing tire size
31's are perfect. Check out my albums for some pics. They arent huge but they arent small. Anything smaller you will likely regret later. 31s keep me satisfied. They give it a good look and dont destroy your gas mileage.

Re: Changing tire size
I paid $620 after tax for my Wrangler TDs. They look great and have plenty of tread. I've done some off roading and rarely had to kick in the 4x4.

Going larger with the tires will definately drop your fuel mileage down.....much more so with a 4 banger than a 6.

Re: Changing tire size
My truck has the stock ride height, will the 31X15 work? will the tires rub on the fender while turning or going over bumps off road. I race motocross here in Florida and have to drive down a very bumpy road to get to a track , just worried about tire clearance. My STX has stock suspension but look like it is high enough for the bigger tires. The engine is the 3.0

Yes its the stock height, and dont want to do a body lift. Do u think it will fit?

theres a tire chart in the wheels and tires section. if it says it will fit, it will fit. bumpy or not. i would not go bigger than 31 on stock suspension though

Re: Changing tire size
Im not sure what the rear axel ratio is, but I know the auto trans is a five speed which helps for gas mileage. I can get over 300 miles out of a full tank of gas with the 19.5 gallon tank
