Question 16" Y-Spoke wheels

Hey guys,

I just got some 16" Y-Spoke from a 2009 Ranger FX4 for my 2004 4X4 Ranger XLT. I tried putting them on my 2004 2WD XLT with the coil spring front suspension just to see what they would look like and they went on just fine in the back, but they won't go on in the front because the hub on the brake rotor is too large. I thought the center cap was the problem at first and then I knocked it out and found out the hub on the rotor is the issue.
Could this be fixed by getting some 2WD rotors from a 2007 + Ranger Sport or should I have the center hole bored out to a larger diameter?
Edit: I just noticed that the 16" Y-Spoke wheels weren't even an option on a 2WD Ranger Sport. If you wanted 16" wheels on a Ranger Sport then you had to go with 5-Split spoke ALUM wheels.
I guess if I ever wanted to put these wheels on my 2WD Ranger I would need to install longer studs in the rotors and add a 2" wheel spacer.

Thanks,

Brian

Sounds like more work than it's worth, and wheels spacers mean less threads on your lugs and that can spell disaster IE me...

Damn, that's crazy ... Did you torque the back lug nuts down tight enough? It's really not more trouble than it's worth, I just need to find the right kind of bolt on wheel spacers for the front wheels.
Does anyone here know of a really good company to get wheel spacers from?

Just look for billet spacers, there pricey but the best.
But I fit the 5 spoke wheels off an 06 4x4 on my 01 2wd, I had no problems other than a bit of rub on my swaybars at full lock.

America's tire was the last one to touch it. It's a long story.

Anyway, if you're set on those wheels then I'd replace your studs with QUALITY longer studs and billit spacers front and rear (I think it looks silly with a wider track in the front) and replace your lug nuts while you're at it.

Why not spend the minimal amount of bucks and have the center bored?
We used to do this (have this done) on rims all the time at local engine machine shops.

I think putting longer studs in and using billet spacers would be the way to go. If I change the ID of the wheels or the OD of the rotors I won't be able to put the center cap back on the front wheels and the grease cap will be sticking out of the wheels.
But will this wear out the wheel bearings faster?
I want a wider stance to improve stability anyways, so I'd be killing two birds with one stone here. I'd definitely need to add some fender flares after doing this though.

I really like the 5 spoke wheels that came off of my 2004 4X4. I had them on my 2WD for a short time and they looked nice. I'm in the process of refinishing them because of salt corrosion. It's ashame that I can't ever get the chrome alloy fishish back, but I guess a coat of silver metallic will be the next best thing.

If you want a wider stance, put a full width Dana 44 up front! Haha, jk. I think for what you wanna do, billet aluminum spacers and longer studs are the way to go. Please do front and rear if you're gouna do it at all though.
