Default Probably a dumb question about my tires...

Hey guys,

I feel like this is a stupid question... but here goes lol. A couple months ago I bought a new set of 32x11.5 Courser M/T's and put them on my stock 15x7 rims. Since then I've put ~2000 miles on the tires, so the tread is hardly worn at all. Yesterday I measured the overall height of all 4 tires and to my surprise they were only 30 inches tall. I checked the pressure, and all 4 are at 40psi. I know the max pressure that these tires are rated for it 50psi... could that 10lb difference in air pressure make that much of a difference in the height?

Was this the rear diameter? Your truck isn't Loaded down is it?
My BFG tires are 31 with 40psi of air and
mine measure just about 31inches tall in the rear

It was the rear and front actually. I had 100 or so pounds of tools in the bed, but nothing major.

honestly, thats probably not too far from right. 40 psi is a good psi for mud terrains on rangers, and basically all tire manufacturers make the tire smaller than the size they state, its standard. so if you take into consideration that you are going to have some sidwall bulge then you are probably sitting about right.

Just bc you bought a 32 inch tire doesn't mean the overall height is 32 inches its always gonna be a few inches smaller

Crap, I knew that no tire is ever the size that the manufacturer claims it is, but I never thought it would be 2 inches smaller lol. Thanks for the answers guys.

you should go to a tire shop and find your tire unmounted, it will be real close to the right height.
