New wheels need a bit of TLC.
Ok so earlier today I bought a set of rims, look alot like those Mickey Thompson Baja rims you see all over the place. Anyways they are in pretty rough shape and to add insult to injury the previous owner had tried to paint over some scratches and rough marks.
My question to all of you is:
1. how do I go about removeing the paint? (some shitty spray can paint)
2. after I get throught the paint with a coarse sandpaper, should I use progressivley finer paper untill smooth and shiney? or something else?
3. and finally after they are clean and look better, should I use a clear coat on them to keep the bare uncoated aluminum protected/coated.
Any thoughts would be very much appreciated.
thanks alot in advance.
