Default Tire loses pressure....

My driver side front tire seems to lose pressure and stay at 20-25 psi after a week or so. It doesn't go lower but it won't stay at 30 or more. My gas mileage is suffering greatly, i get 14-15 mpg but when it is inflated to 30 or 35 psi i get 16-17 mpg.

anyone know why it drops and stays in that range?

also i definitely need to get my tires balanced.

Hmm... That's really weird now that you mention it. Mine does it too, and it's ONLY my front left tire. I haven't found a leak yet (i've spent plenty of time with soapy water looking for it)... I'm not sure what to tell ya. Hope we find answers?

if its losing that much air its got a leak. could be anywhere, a nail in the tire, the bead could be leaking, the valve stem ect ect. if you bring the truck in to have the wheels balanced have them check for leaks.

Either a tire shop or get a can of fix a flat. My friend put some in his tire about 3 years ago when he had a really bad leak, would go flat in 6 hours. And he still drives around on that tire with no leaks

X2 that stuff is meant to be a temporary fix and it says so right on the container. its bad news if left on the rims too long.

Never knew that, never used it myself. Just know my friend used it on his Camry that was falling apart anyways.

We have a tire store here that does free check/repairs so I just took mine there when I had the same problem. Sure enough they found something (I think it was a nail or a screw) in the tire.

maybe it loses pressure because its a 265/75/16 and the rim is a 16x7 (i think thats what it is) so maybe it's stretched to far and loses pressure on impacts?

----------

due to it's weak sidewall it compresses and a gap between the rim and tire is formed and a lose of pressure occurs.... reminds me of bull run when av chevy avalanche dropped 20psi in a tire because of that..... hrmmm maybe i'll talk to my mechanic
