New Wheels and Tires Opinions and Suggestions welcome
My little redneck jitney is in need of some tires for sure.
The wheels I could do without, but I found some super cheap wheels on JC Whitney's site and they aren't too bad. Being that they are so cheap though, I want to make sure they will hold up lol!
I want the Wrangler Authority A/T tires for sure, they look rugged, but seem good to drive on. The truck doesnt get driven much anyways.
So what do you guys think? I don't want anything flashy or huge (no 24's lol)
(i know the bolt pattern pictured wont fit, its an example shot haha)

IMO, a steel wheel is a steel wheel. I wouldnt doubt if they were made in the same factory and just get different centercaps that either say Cragar, MT, Pacer, etc...
OP, great looking combo, get them now!

Re: New Wheels and Tires Opinions and Suggestions welcome
Thats my point, all the wheel makers have the same wheels, especially steel wheels. A black soft 8 is a black soft 8. why pay more because it says cragar on it. If you get them and the centercap says Pacer, you will pay cheaper than the rest of them. ask me how I know.
I have Pacer 164s on my truck and they are the exact thing as a Mickey Thompson Classic II. Only the MT cost about $20 per wheel.

Re: New Wheels and Tires Opinions and Suggestions welcome
crager is just a solid brand, but i doubt there is any difference.
as far as tires if you want a mud terrain go with the bfg km2 or the good year duratrac, or hanook mud terrain. they all do really well on light trucks like ours.

how do you know??
but my main concern is the wheels holding up... i dont want to have to replace them every couple years if i dont have to. i just dont know the difference between this material and, say, alloys or something else lol
i dont go rough riding in my truck by any means, but i use it to haul things on occasion.

Re: New Wheels and Tires Opinions and Suggestions welcome
I personally am not a fan of black in steel or aluminum. Modular is a very good look in polished aluminum. BFG's for tires the whole way man, they're aggresive, look good and the tread life is amazing. I personally have seen 80k + on my 32's I had.

Re: New Wheels and Tires Opinions and Suggestions welcome
no worries. steel wheels will last you a long time, just dont let them get scratched and rust.

Re: New Wheels and Tires Opinions and Suggestions welcome
Really either wheel will do fine. Both steel wheels and aluminum will do fine. I have owned both. Aluminum just don't rust like the steel. It will oxidize but not rust away like steel
