Default HELP!!! What would cause inner tire edge wear?

I have a 94 Ford Ranger, and my tires are wearing on the inside edge, when I drive it pulls to the left, and when i start applying the breaks the truck's front end vibrates. Would Ball Joints be the culprit?

I was ran off the road this last winter and I got pushed over a 2' snow drift, and hit the curb at 35-40mph. Would that cause the truck to just get out of alignment.

inside wear could be either tires pointed out (toe-out) or tires tipped in (- camber)

being run off the road and a hard hit could possibly bend the TTB, or the drag link being bent would thro off the alignment

Sounds like alignment. Mine did the same things and the cambers were adjusted and all good now

BTW ...Firestone tires will give a LIFETIME alignment for $169 - $15 coupon

I have NEVER paid for another alignment on my truck!

When an Alignment Job is done, is adjusting the caster/camber part of the alignment job?

Yes, they have to get it aligned by adjusting them sometimes. They had to bust out the torch to undo the bolts on mine lol and it doesnt cost any extra

Nothing had to be replaced, its all adjustments unless there is something bent or broken and if that happened and you recently got an inspection it would most likely fail with bent or broken parts

the miss alignment could have a cause behind it like ball joints have gone bad

TTB is Twin Traction Beam. You have TIB Twin I Beam. Its just the style of suspension.

The shop will tell you that you dont have adjustable camber bushings, well they are, you jsut have to grind the tab off. Anyhow, they wont touch them regardless, best bet is for you to buy them from Napa, and install them before the alignment. This way they can do it properly. Would they be able to Re-Align It temporarily till i get time 2 fix it? Even if the ball joints are bad?

How difficult is it to change ball joints yourself? And does O'reillys rent out the Ball Joint "C-Clamp" tool?

ball joints are "involved" not to bad tho, the ball joint clamp tool is a POS. You'll end up hammering them in anyhow.

No one will align (camber) without the bushings in there. Or they will put them in but will rape you on the labor to do it.
